The day before, vacuum every floor, including under furniture and along the edges, and empty the vacuum outside. Wash pet bedding in hot water. Pets need their own flea treatment from a vet at around the same time, or they will bring fleas straight back in. After the visit, vacuum every day or two for a couple of weeks, which helps new fleas hatch and meet the treatment.
